lyrics
All I want’s a melody
To ride with me tonight
The skies the limit for this fricasee
And the lights are shining bright
All aboard the scene is set
For this journey to begin
This life that Ive been in
Is starting to wear pretty thin
Cos all I really wanna do
Is walk on the open road
To walk a mile in your shoes
To end where all the rivers flow
The open road has called my name
And I will soon be free
Leave behind these empty dreams
Kick this misery
Some people say that there’s nothing to find}
But I don’t wanna hear that at all
Some people say that Im walking away
But sometimes you got to walk to feel the fall.
Cos all I really wanna do
Is walk on the open road
To walk a mile in your shoes
To float to where the rivers flow
Im travlin out to where the quiet is loud
l jump from stone to stone
Living life out of this ol bag
Its stripped me back to the bone
Livin life out of this ol bag
Has stripped me back to the bone

Brunswick Ballroom show was epic. I thought Stars was my fave track. Then I listened to Match at home … sublime! I may never see EMMYLOU & Rodney Crowell & the hot band live .. but seeing Tracy & Dan & the GoodLife live is amazing!! Thank you 🙏🏼 cinders

This is some great music for a morose, rainy day. Lush, sedate, bluesy, and with a certain apocalyptic flair, most evident on White Horses, which sounds very much like a psychedelic blues dirge.
I appreciate that the songs sometimes lose themselves along the way, giving way to some beautiful psych explorations. I also enjoy the vocals on this - they sometimes waver, but they fit the music so well. Smekermann
